USS Indianapolis Littoral Combat Ship Catches Fire at Mayport, 7 Injured

At approximately 11:30 a.m. local time on June 24, the USS Indianapolis (LCS-17) experienced a fire while pierside at Naval Station Mayport, Florida. The fire was extinguished by the crew and base firefighters.
Naval Surface Force Atlantic stated that seven injured sailors were evaluated at a local hospital and have since been released.
This is the latest in a series of U.S. Navy ship fires over the past three months.
